FAQs

Are you licensed?

Yes, Brennan’s Roofing & Exteriors is licensed and insured in the state of Virginia. For additional information on our Virginia Class A Contractors license or our insurance and workers comp please contact us directly.

Will you remove my old roof?

When we are ready to install a new roof on to your home, we will remove the existing roof and haul all the debris away. Unless the old shingles are pulled up, you will never know if you have soft spots or rotten wood beneath the current shingles.  If you shingle over bad spots in the wood, you will have larger costlier problems in the future.

Are you going to install Drip edge when you install the roof?

Yes. We will install new drip edge. Drip edge is a small piece of aluminum placed under the shingle where it comes off the roof. The drip edge extends past the roof and allows run off to flow into the gutter, rather than behind the gutters onto your fascia and roof wood. Some roofers will skip this process so it is important to ask your contractor about installing drip edge before hiring.

How will you protect my gutters when you install my roof?

You may not realize it now, but the method your roofer uses to get onto your roof is as important as what type of roof you install. Brennan’s Roofing uses a ladder stabilizer that keeps the extension ladders weight off of your gutter system, protecting it from getting bent and torn apart.

Do you bring a container to store old material that needs to be hauled away?

Yes Brennan’s Roofing & Exteriors will bring a trailer to your property so that all old material can be properly removed and disposed at the completion of the project.

What will you do in the case of in-climate weather during the install?

So we all know that the weather man is not always correct. When someone is removing and replacing your roof bad weather can be a major problem.  If we experience a rain storm or bad weather, your roof will be covered in tarps and plastic sheeting to ensure everything beneath it stays dry. If the storm continues for a few days, we will come by and check that the tarps and plastic are keeping the home or business dry and safe from damage.

Do you have a local phone number and address?

Yes, Brennan’s Roofing was started by two Manassas natives, Alex Wilson and Pat Brennan. They are always just a phone call away and are available to meet all of your roofing needs. Contact us today.

How will you protect my landscaping during the project?

Home and business owners are sometimes unaware of what can happen to the surrounding areas while a new roof is being installed. We cover lawn, gardens, landscaping, decks, bushes, and more with tarps that will protect them during the project and prepare for an easy clean-up.

Is there someone on site with whom I can communicate?

During the installation of your new roof, there will be a project manager on site to answer your questions and respond to your concerns. He will provide you with all the details on the processes, materials, and various layers that will go into your new roofing system.

Do you provide a written estimate?

Brennan’s Roofing provides free written detailed estimates on all roofing replacements and repairs. We haul away 100% of the old material on all of our jobs. Contact us now for an estimate.
